‘Tis the Season

Merry Christmas guys!

braiyonna's Blog

Tis the season to be jolly or so as the Christmas song goes. But let’s be honest, there’s a small percentage of Americans actually living by that saying.

I love the holidays and at the same time dread them. I feel like everyone gets wrapped up trying to buy that sometimes the purpose of the holiday gets lost. I know my thinking varies from the majority but to me gifts are an extra bonus and not a necessity.

What ever happened to enjoying the simple things, such as baking cookies and/or watching the Christmas Story? To me that’s what Christmas is about.

My tradition may not be yours but it’s what I look forward to every year with my family.

The Gambler (2014)

Dan the Man's Movie Reviews

Albert Camus and gambling. How could I have not seen the similarities before?

Literary professor Jim Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) doesn’t seem like he’s happy about his life. For one, his grand-father just died and has practically left him little-to-no money. Bennett also happens to have a gambling problem, that gets him into all sorts of trouble with powerful kingpins of the underground poker world. And, to make matters slightly worse, he has a job that he absolutely hates, where all he does is practically yell at each and everyone of his students, telling them that not only are they “not great”, but they’re also wasting his precious time. So yeah, Bennett doesn’t necessarily have the best life in the world of all person’s lives, but he does have a possible-girlfriend (Brie Larson), a very rich mom (Jessica Lange), and nearly seven days to settle all of his debts before it’s too…

Life is a Rubik’s Cube

Vipul Babbar

Life is a Rubik’s Cube. You just have to know the algorithm to solve it. Once you know that, it’s a piece of cake for you. But it’s not this simple. The story doesn’t end here. Most of the people would follow the already described algorithm and would just solve it with ease by walking on the path that has been followed earlier by others. The tried and tested path. Life would be super easy for them. Just do it as others are doing and it’s all done. But you are not one of them. You would want to develop some new algorithm to solve it. In this particular case your life’s not going to be that easy. You would be advised by many to just follow the known algorithms and just get done with it. But you won’t because that’s just not you. And you would continue with your…

Dealing with my Depression

Lost_Teen's Blog

The feelings that come with depression are overwhelming at times. The hardest part is not knowing how the next day is going to be until it actually arrives. One day could be great, no signs at all. But then the next day it is hard to get out of bed and you usually have to force yourself to get up. Or it could be the other way around. Also, on the bad days, I feel guilty because I tend to be frustrated with my constantly changing emotions and take it out on those around me without even realizing it. That’s the hardest part, trying to be a constant mood from day to day so that it does not take a toll on the ones you love. I have found that I deal with my emotions the best when I use meditation regularly. Meditation is something that I would recommend to…

Crazy Hot Sex

Mom Life Now

To my dear daughter,

As you grow, many boys will enter your years. They will speak words of love and passion, of wanting you–all of you.

Their sex will be lacking.

Believe me, dear girl, I know what crazy hot lovemaking is made of. Until the boy can assure you of the following, it is not true passion.

If he can patiently wait for over three years. From pregnant to nursing to pregnant to nursing, with your hormones fierce, and desire often dead. “Please, just let me sleep. I am so tired.” will be your common response. Until he can love you still, choose you still, it is not true passion.

If He can call you beautiful when even your feet are swollen from baby belly. Call you sexy when your legs run thick with varicose veins from the same. Call you perfect after your belly hangs loose with skin…
